The standard format for PrintArt is PNG. JPG and PSD formats are also available. All three formats are compatible with most graphic programs. (Note: Embroidery Art is not available in PSD format)

JPG:

Designs are compressed into a one-layer image and have a white background. This means that if you place a JPG on a yellow background, there will be a white box surrounding the image on top of the yellow.

PNG:

Designs are compressed into a one-layer image and has a transparent background. This means that if you place a transparent PNG on a yellow background, the background color of that image will be yellow.

EXAMPLES:

• JPG & PNG /Images cannot be “taken apart” or recolored unless special software (and proper knowledge of that software) such as Photoshop is used.
• JPG & PNG formats can be Opened, Placed, Imported, or Copied & Pasted into almost any type of document such as Paint, Word, Corel Draw, Illustrator, Photoshop, Freehand, etc… This list is not limited to the programs listed.

PSD:

This format is created in Adobe Photoshop and will contain “layers” of a design. For instance, if a design consists of stars, a football, and lettering, each of them will be on a separate layer and can be changed or removed.
